WHAT'S new?

The ‘ Simplified Application Process “ for Federal Economic Classes means that applicants will provide only fees plus application form at time of initial application, and will be asked to provide supporting documentation only when the visa office is ready to assess. The new procedure is an administrative, not regulatory change and has come into effect September 1, 2006. Under this process, applicants submit only a basic application form and fee. This guarantees a place in the processing queue, meaning that the regulations in effect on that date will apply to the application. Application will be processed according to the rules and regulations in effect at the time you submit your application. These may change at any time. There is currently a queue of federal skilled worker application, creating a delay of several years. In order to avoid asking applicants to submit updated supporting documentation more than once, the Simplified Application Process has been introduced. For your application to be considered you must show you have the necessary funds and meet the minimum requirements of at least one year full time paid work experience. You must meet all the criteria at the time you submit your application.
